Center for Research and Community Works (LPPM) is a branch operated by Del Institute of Technology which is coordinating, monitoring, and reviewing the implementation of research and community works held by the Institution, Knowledge Clusters, Study Programs, groups and individuals. The Institution has engaged in attempts in controlling the use of resources and developing as well as increasing the quality of research and community works.

The vision of Center for Research and Community Works of IT Del

In order to be a high-calibre and independent institution in research implementation, particularly in the development and use of communication and information technology to the community works.

The missions of Center for Research and Community Works of  IT Del

– to develop sources for teaching and education at campus and among common people by research and its output use.

– to produce good quality research and academic studies impacted on institutions’ development at local, national and

international levels.

– to disseminate research results through seminars, workshops, and other media so as to reach the broadest targets

– to develop science and technology-based professional community works, especially information technology and

communication

– to promote the abilities and roles of the lecturers and students in research and people’s empowerment

The Roles and Responsibilities of Center for Research and Community Works of IT Del

Research

  1. Internal

– to coordinate research at the Knowledge Clusters, study programs and individuals as well as collaborative

research

–  to disseminate information on research, for example information from the General Directorate of Higher Education

or the Ministry of Research and  Technology

–  to help increase research skills of IT Del lecturers

– to help improve the research quality by trainings and academics activities for disseminating and discussing research

results

– to help counter problems in the implementation of research at the Knowledge Clusters, study programs and

research by groups or individuals.

– to help lecturers in research publication

– to help lecturers by developing incentive policy for research activities

2. External

–   to browse information related to research, for instance from the General Directorate of Higher Education-

Department of Culture and Education (information on Competitive Grant, and other fund allocation open for

private universities), including government institutions, non-governments and international donors, e.g.

information on research incentive from the Ministry of Research and Technology

–   to develop collaborative research networks with any other polytechnics in  Indonesia

–  to develop collaborative research networks with local governments and various universities in North Sumatera,

Indonesia and other foreign countries

Community Work

1. Internal

– to help all IT Del academic circles carry out target-based and sustainable community works

– to carry out socio economics activities for communities outside IT Del

– to develop students’ ability and alumni’s  in business development

– to create programs aiming at developing and strengthening areas/regions around IT Del

2. External

– to build cooperation with people and certain communities around Toba highland

– to develop training and course programs to enhance the capacity of Toba Samosir people and surroundings

– to develop cooperation with the local government near IT Del, private companies, DIKTI and donors
