The EASTEM (Euro-Ausian Collaboration for Enhancing STEM Education) project will contribute to the objectives of Capacity Building related to improving the quality of higher education and enhancing its relevance for the labour market and society in three South-East Asian Partner Countries. It will do that by improving student-centred competence development in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) courses, training academic staff and establishing STEM education centres. The project, involving partners from Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia, fully addresses the priority of ‘University-enterprise cooperation, entrepreneurship and employability of graduates’ set for Asia. It explicitly targets employability of graduates, and involvement of industry stakeholders in educational programmes.

The project starts in 2019 and ends in 2021.

The first kick of meeting has been held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 25 – 27 Feb 2019. In the meeting, the participants discussed about the plan of the project in three years ahead including work packages, organizational structures, project management, and quality assurance of the projects.
