On Saturday, 16 September 2017 was a day when an informal gathering between students and lecturers at Engineering Management Study Program was held. The event was joined by 210 Engineering Management students from 4 classes (2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017) and was attended by Rector of IT Del Prof. Togar Simatupang, Dean of Faculty of Industrial Technology Dr. Yosef Manik and lecturers from Engineering Management study program like Devis Simanjuntak, Anna Simanjuntak, Rizal Sinaga, Ricardo Situmeang and Santi Manalu.

The event in essence serves as a sharing session among Engineering Management students. Marselo Sitorus (class of 2015), one of Global UGrad Fulbright awardee going to participate in the students’ exchange program in Milwaukee, the U.S. explained about the selection process of the program along with strategies for winning the scholarship. Asido Situmorang and Samuel Tampubolon (class of 2014) whose paper managed to be accepted in International Conference of Industrial and System Engineering (IConISE) in Bali, last August, shared the tips for conducting a research that could be published in an international conference.  Ruth Natalie, Happy Silaban, Rini Hutahaean and Putri Sitompul (class of 2014) who enrolled all Pre-Master programs at University of Amsterdam depicted the opportunities and challenges joining the Pre-Master program.

In a parallel session, there are also sharing in small classes like what should be done to get challenging and quality internship places. There was also a sharing on the strategy of winning competitive funding  like students’ creativity program once won by a team of Engineering Management students. Also, there was a sharing on strategy for being successful for class of 2017 in Preparation Stage by Sulastri Hutajulu (class of 2016) and Patresia Sitanggang (class of 2015).

In addition to such a serious program the event was also celebrated with Engineering Management students’ talent show like singing and the fashion show. In the middle of the event, there was also a joint photo session between students and lecturers together.
