On Thursday, June 23rd, 2016 all residents of IT Del (IT Del) were invited to participate in socialization on Compost and Trash Separation. The activity was one of IT Del concerns to cope with trash started from IT Del environment. It took place at IT Del auditorium; the materials on the compost and trash separation were delivered by Jan Siebertz from Germany and were interpreted by an IT Del lecturer Ricardo Situmeang.
In this socialization, it was also explained about organic and non-organic trash separation and waste management after the trash had been separated. In the process, the first compost was supervised by Jan Siebertz who was helped by students from Bioprocess Engineering and gardeners. This compost was certainly very useful especially because IT Del had long been trying to make a green beautiful environment. Meanwhile, based on the explanation, the non-organic trash would be given to the garbage collectors who had met IT Del team before for recycling.
May this socialization with 4 R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Replace) held at IT Del to manage the garbage can be maintained and improved.
