Sitoluama, 11 July 2019 – Instut Teknolgi Del (IT Del) in collaboration with the Czech University Life of Science (CULS) held the 2019 Summer School program. The collaboration program between IT Del and CULS which has been going on since 2012 will be held from 8 July to 28 July 2019. This year, delegates from IT Del were led by Monalisa Pasaribu, SS., M.Ed while from CULS was Ing. Adam Kešner, Ph.D. The participants consisted of 17 CULS students and 6 IT Del students.
Summer School is an annual activity for CULS students visiting tourist destinations and getting to know Batak culture and student life on the IT Del campus. Tourist destinations include Taman Eden, Bukit Lawang, Aek Nauli, and Tuktuk.
By using the concept of learning which is fun and educative, CULS students will be given an Indonesian language class, learning to cook Indonesian food and research assignments. They also visited several well-known companies such as PT. Hutahaean at Pintu Bosi, PT. Toba Pulp Lestari in Porsea, and Unilever in Sei Mangkei Simalungun.
Hopefully with the Summer School activities can add the experience of CULS students during their visit to Indonesia and trigger the use of English by IT Del students and advance the tourism sector in the Tobasa area so that make the Batak culture more known to the world.
