Institut Teknologi Del conducted a workshop attended by 72 participants consisting of IT Del teaching assistants and lecturers. The workshop taking place from January 22-23, 2019 was coordinated by Dr. Arlinta Christy Barus S.T., M.InfoTech as the Vice Rector of Academic at IT Del. The workshop focused on developing Indonesia’s National Qualification Framework (KKNI)-based curriculum, with Dr. Ir. Syamsul Arifin, M.T. as the keynote speaker. This event was opened officially by the Rector of IT Del Prof.Ir. Togar M. Simatupang, M.Tech., Ph.D.
In the workshop, KKNI was informed to have been implemented since its first introduction in 2003. However, it was officially approved by the President of RI in the early of 2012 as the attempts for qualification standardization for university graduates in Indonesia by the issuance of President Decree No. 08 in 2012 on Kerangka Kualifikasi Nasional Indonesia (KKNI). This has become the references in designing the learning outcomes for the graduates at every level of education in national level. The issue of President Decree No. 08 Tahun 2012 and Laws of Higher Education No. 12 in 2012 Section 29 chapter (1), (2), and (3) brought changes to the curriculum and its management in every program. The curriculum, initially referring to the competency, has now turned into the reference for learning outcomes. In brief, KKNI covers nine levels of academic qualification for Indonesian human resources.
Based on the participants’ high enthusiasm during Q&A session, it could be concluded that the participants were highly interested in the workshop. The curriculum formulation was the core topic delivered by the keynote informant. In the closing of the workshop, Prof.Ir. Togar M. Simatupang, M.Tech., Ph.D. encouraged the participants to learn from the workshop to better improve the quality of education for IT Del students.
