Unlike the usual meeting habit, this time Del English Club didnt gather in a room. Del English Club gathered in the open theater; an open space, to get a slightly different atmosphere. At 03.00 PM the chairman and the members were seated in the open theater and started the agenda of the meeting that day.

The agenda of that meeting was about discussing study tour plan to be held by Del English Club on semester break. After that, the club played a game.

After a long discussion about the plan for a trip on semester break, two options of destinations came up, firstly to Berastagi and secondly to Tuk-Tuk. The first option was Berastagi because years ago del English club had ever made a one day trip to Tuk-Tuk. However, the plan would be discussed again by the chairman with the club coordinator since no definite decision was resulted from the discussion.

After the discussion, the club switched to the second session which was playing game. The rules in that game: the first person mentioned a word that had at least two syllables. Then the second person mentioned a word beginning with last syllable of the word the first person mentioned. Then continued with the third person, with the same rule. The game was played in a circle formed by all the members.

For example, the first person said: “handsome”, then the second person would probably say “someone”, and then continued to the third person. If the two are not in accordance with the regulations in answering the game, then that person would be punished for singing. In the game, when one member could not continue the words of the previous player, he/she would be punished for singing; an English song entitled my love.

Below were the lyrics of the song:

So I say a little prayer

And hope my dreams will take me there

Where the skies are blue

To see you once again, my love

Overseas from coast to coast

To find the place I love the most

Where the fields are green

To see you once again, my love

Yet, all members sang the song along, so it didnt really seem like the person was being punished. One good thing observed, before the game, a member was feeling unwell, but after joining the game, especially singing the song, he felt better. It seemed that togetherness could eliminate fatigue and relieve ones burden. Gladly to admit that everyone was happy on the club meeting.
