One commitment from Directorate of Students, Directorate General for Students and Learning, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education is to increase the number of students with distinctive accomplishment across Indonesia, because it is inseparable with the goal of education that is to build students’ potential to make them be the people whose faith and belief in the Almighty God with noble and healthy moral, become knowledgeable, with ability, creative, independent, skillful, competent and culture-oriented for the nation’s sake. Thus, the increasing number of students with distinctive accomplishment can be reached by the activity for accomplished students’ selection as one selection agenda.
Selection for Students with Distinctive Accomplishment (Pilmapres) is held starting from the Study Program/Major level to Department level to Faculty level to Higher Institution (University/Institute/ Higher School) level to the Higher Educational Service Institution for private universities to National level with the following procedure and selection. In that relation, Elserida Quinta Nababan has been appointed to represent Engineering Management study program and Faculty of Industry Technology, to further compete for being selected with other three students who are the representatives of the undergraduate study programs at higher education level. Assessed based on academic writing, English presentation before the lecturer jury and several accomplishments achieved upon being a student, Elserida Quinta Nababan finally became the representative of the Institution for the next selection of the Higher Educational Service Institution Region 1 of North Sumatera from April 4-5, 2019 in Medan.
At LLDIKTI level, Elserida Quinta Nababan submitted her writing entitled “Utilization of Pineapple Leaf Fibers as An Alternative Textile Raw Material Especially for Ulos Weaver in Implementing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at Sipahutar Village” since the theme of this year is Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Elserida listed down some of her achievements such as joining organization of Del English Club and Students Executive Body at Science and Technology Department, participating in competitions like DMSC and as Program Cinta Almamater 2017 supervisor at IT Del, Malaysia-Singapore Student Exchange, Summer School 2018 and 2019 participant, PHBD Region I finalist, Teaching Assistant, the Runner-Up of Campus Integrity Contest Festival held by The Corruption Eradication Commission and Top 10 Business Plan by Toba Entrepreneur Festival.
With her academic writing and achievements, Elserida was to follow two interviews and a presentation before the Higher Educational Service Institution Region 1 of North Sumatera. After going through some evaluations, at last, based on the decree of Students Directorate of General Directorate Belmawa at Ministry of Research, Technology and Education on Selection for Students with Distinctive Accomplishment (Pilmapres) 2019, Elserida Quinta Nababan was selected as the best third winner.
