In supporting the development of tourism of Toba, IT Del conducted workshop on “Excellent Service” on 5th-6th April 2019. Led by Mr. Wiweko Adi Nugroho as the Managing Director of Lead & Beyond, this workshop invited owners, directors and managers of hotels, souvenir shop, restaurant and café, transportation agency and tour guide. The two-day workshop was attended by 20 participants.

Hands-on materials were presented with some important key points in excellent service. Interactive activities such as presentation, training and discussion session on problems faced in the real practice were discussed. Mr Eko delivered some valuable materials including the materials of Product-Technology-Human Capital, Customer Experience and The Right Attitude in CX. All the participants also experienced first-hand on how to do excellent service throughout the practice session during lunch and dinner in the campus of IT Del and lunch at Hutanta restaurant in Balige.

Participants coming to the workshop were from Batikta, Brussel Homestay, TB Center, Travel Tapanuli Trans, Hotel Tabo Cottage, Hotel Nabasa, Taman Eden 100, Radio Del FM, Jabu Andaliman Balige, IT Del students and lecturers, and IT Del canteen staffs. At the end of the session, participants conducted a reflection session. They were also asked to make a plan on how to conduct the excellent service within their industry. Trainer will be following up with participants by making a communication group. Many participants commented positively on this workshop since the materials were applicable in their own industry. It helped to see excellent service from a bigger scope and finally helped them to change their mindset on how to do conduct an excellent service.
