Box Implementation Training was successfully held from 28th of March 2019 until 29th of March 2019. Institut Teknologi Del (IT Del) collaborating with Vienna University Technology and ASEA-UNINET represented by Niina Novak gave a training for elementary, junior high school and senior high school teachers and students in Information Technology (IT), English, and Ekopolis. The three topics were given by learning modules provided by Vienna University Technology called BOX (BOX Implementation) accessible from https://brainsintheclouds.eu/. BOX implementation is a Digital Learning program by learning modules supporting and training students’ individual learning process. The BOX module implementation is expected to broaden the teachers’ perspectives in developing teaching materials by integrating Information and Computer Technology and motivating students for informal independent learning.
In addition, there was a K12- Informatics Computer Science National Curriculum Seminar with the keynote speaker Dr. Inggriani Liem representing Bebras Indonesia. This seminar aims to give socialization for school teachers on Information and Computing Engineering application as the main subject on junior high school and senior high school curricula.
This activity is expected to have opened the teachers’ perspectives toward the direction of education especially to one already emphasizing information technology development, while also motivating students for independent learning.
