Institut Teknologi Del deserves to be proud because one of its students has been selected as the participant of GO-JEK Engineering Boot Camp batch two in Bangalore, India. The student is Eko Simanjuntak, a student of Diploma 4 in Informatics Engineering. GO-JEK Engineering Bootcamp is a technical skill training for application development organized by GO-JEK. This program aims to help the boot camp participants to maximize their potential, while also digging for new potential.
In this program, the boot camp participants will be mentored in person by engineers laboring for GO-JEK. Those mentors should be able to supervise the boot camp participants based on the mentors’ real experiences when working on developing GO-JEK application. During the two and a half of month bootcamp, the participants will be taught various materials. The materials during the boot camp consists of Core Engineering, DevOps, Android, iOS, Data Science, and Security. Such number of materials are expected to equip the boot camp participants to be knowledgeable enough in IT. However, they are also expected to master one expertise despite the getting widely knowledgeable purpose.
The participants joining this boot camp program are new GO-JEK engineers and fresh graduate engineers outside GO-JEK. First, the participants are selected within two-stage procedure, a technical test and an interview. On the technical test, the participants will be given one case to be solved by using a computer program finished during a specified time. The boot camp participant candidates passing the technical test will be directly interviewed by GO-JEK engineers. They will be asked technical aspects in-depth more. In 2019, GO-JEK has organized boot camp twice. The first boot camp is held in Jakarta from March until the mid of May. The second boot camp starts in mid August in Bangalore, India.
Eko Simanjuntak’s selection as one of the candidates is the evidence that Institut Teknologi Del can direct its students to be ready in industry. Besides Eko Simanjuntak, many other Institut Teknologi Del graduates fill in IT positions in numerous companies in Indonesia. Indeed, they get their work offers before even graduating from study.
