Laguboti, 26th of March 2019. Anthon Roberto, an IT Del lecturer received Intellectual Property Rights Certificate from Intellectual Property Directorate General of Laws and Human Rights Ministry.  It was such an achievement for IT Del in 2019 and huge success was reached by Anthon Roberto along with his team for their invention, an original product of E-Gov-Center.

According to Dr. Ir. Bambang S.P Abednego the third Vice Rector in Cooperation and Research, today IT Del has the alumni who mostly work in Java so that IT Del, through those alumni has been well-known in industry where they work. However, the challenge is IT Del should keep productive not only in Java but also contribute in regions, especially where IT Del is situated. One of the contribution is helping support transparent and well-managed  governance in the region by the use of information technology. The contribution is by establishing E-Gov Center to facilitate research and community work creating applications. These applications can absolutely help society control the goverment by its transparency. So far, there have been four regencies alreay using E-Gov Center. Also, it is important to know that IT Del is always doing its best effort to contribute not only within its institution but also for surrounding community.

Anthon Roberto explained E-Gov Center was IT Del lecturer’s contribution to the regional government around the area. By far, E-Gov Center has collaborated with four regencies, North Tapanuli, Toba Samosir, Humbang Hansudutan and South Nias. Central government also supports those regencies. E-Gov has also created four applications for E-Government like E-Planning, E-Perizinan, E-Budgeting, and E-Asset. In 2019, it plans to make some other applications in response to the requirements of regional government for better data sources management. Previously in 2018, two regencies, North Tapanuli Utara and Toba Samosir were helped by E-Gov cooperating with the government to produce Regional Budget Plan at regency level through E-Gov application.

This product is based on the research by IT Del lecturer, so this E-Government application needs its intellectual rights granted as Intellectual Property Rights. This Rights were awarded to IT Del due to E-Gov Center’s contribution, as an invention of IT Del. Many of applications developed by E-Gov Center are planned to be registered for their Intellectual Property Rights and awarded to IT Del. It is far from a simple thing to be certificated with Intellectual Property Rights. One must produce innovation on his or her own. Thus, as the hope of Anthon Roberto as a lecturer at IT Del, IT Del is going to be greater and reach as best accreditation in Indonesia.

This E-Government is also beneficial for society. The society can receive valid information from each government of regency by using the application created by E-Gov through the government’s official website  so that they can do monitoring over the development of regency government.

The research by Anthon Roberto in E-Government application has been awarded Intellectual Property Rights Certificate by Intellectual Property Directorate General of Laws and Human Rights Ministry, given to IT Del. This is the first step for IT Del as a pride, to show that despite its remote location, it does not stop IT Del to make such impressive accomplishment no matter how tough the obstacles have been. The innovation has been used for helping regency governments around IT Del campus to become more efficient, effective and compatible. The next hope is,” IT Del should be able to yield more Intellectual Property Rights which will become an example for state-owned educational higher institutions or private higher educational institutions, said Prof.Ir. Togar M. Simatupang, M.Tech., Ph.D. the Rector of IT Del.
